Stewart & Heaton Clothing NewsAFAC EXHIBITION 2010
Stewart & Heaton Clothing (S&H) again exhibited at this year’s AFAC and Bushfire CRC Conference, held at the Darwin Convention Centre (8th-10th September 2010). S&H is proud to hold a “Gold Exhibitor” status and has now had continuous involvement with the Conference and Exhibition for over 12 years.
The Exhibition is a wonderful opportunity to interact with our AFAC partners and the broader industry in general in the one place and in a less-formal setting. This year S&H took the opportunity to showcase some new innovative garment designs and raw material, which from feedback received was positively viewed by those attending the S&H display. Areas of innovation included wildland and structural fire fighting garments, station wear clothing, protective hoods and other accessory items.
In addition to displaying these new items at the exhibition, S&H took the opportunity to discuss with end users their existing needs and the interaction of these needs with their personal protective clothing requirements. Such discussions provide valuable insights for future S&H personal protective clothing developments.
S&H would like to take the opportunity to thank all those delegates that took the time to visit our stand, and look forward to our continued involvement at the AFAC exhibition in Sydney in 2011. An S&H delegation where amongst the 125,000 people that attended the Interschutz Exhibition in Leipzig, Germany. Held in Germany every 5 years, Interschutz is seen as a major international exhibition for the fire and rescue services sector, this year attracting 1,350 exhibitors from 46 countries. S&H are a purchaser of raw materials from all over the world, so Interschutz gave a rare opportunity to meet face-to-face with a number of our key global suppliers in the one place at the one time. New and upcoming innovations were the primary focus of discussions, and how these new raw materials can best be integrated into S&H garments to better meet the present and future needs of our customers. Some very exciting products were presented to S&H which are now being evaluated (by both S&H and in conjunction with our customers) as a part of S&H’s continual research and development program. |
